Privacy policy
sinuca.io is a free pool game in the browser. We don't ask for sign-up, email or password. This page explains, in plain words, the little we collect and how you control it.
Anonymous metrics in this browser
1. Anonymous usage metrics
To know whether the game works and what to improve, the game sends simple events: when you open the site, start and finish a match, do the tutorial or clear the table in practice. Each event carries:
- a random code created in your browser (unrelated to your name, email or device) and a visit code;
- language, game mode (online, bot, practice, two on one device), bot level and aim mode;
- the match result, duration and number of shots;
- whether it's a phone or a computer, whether light mode is on, the screen size and the game version;
- the domain of the site you came from (for example, google.com), if you came from another site.
We don't send your nickname, IP address, location, contacts or anything that identifies you. Metrics don't run if your browser has "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" on, and you can turn them off in the box above.
2. Online matches
To play online, the match server receives the nickname you typed and your shots. This only lives in the server's memory during the match and is gone when it ends. Your opponent sees your nickname; offensive nicknames are replaced automatically.
Like any website, the server sees your IP address in order to connect to you. We use it only in the moment, to limit abuse (for example, too many connections at once), and we don't store it in any database. Hosting providers may keep technical access logs for a short time, for security.
3. What is stored in your browser
The game uses your browser's local storage (localStorage), not cookies, to remember: your nickname, sound and music, 3D/2D view, aim mode, bot level, whether you've done the tutorial, and the random metrics code. During an online match, a temporary code lets you rejoin if the page reloads. You can erase all of this by clearing the site's data in your browser.
4. Why we use it and on what basis
We use metrics only to understand how the game is used and to improve it (which modes people play, where they quit, whether it runs well on phones). The legal basis is legitimate interest (GDPR art. 6(1)(f); LGPD art. 7, IX), and you can object at any time by turning metrics off. We don't sell data or use it for advertising.
5. Who processes the data
- Supabase: metrics database (servers in São Paulo, Brazil);
- Fly.io: online match server (São Paulo, Brazil);
- Cloudflare: website delivery.
These services may process technical data in other countries, under their own data protection policies.
6. How long
Metrics are deleted automatically after 13 months. Online match data is gone when the match ends.
7. Your rights
You can turn metrics off, delete this browser's code (in the box above), and ask for access to or deletion of the data tied to your code by writing to contato@sinuca.io. Since we don't know who you are, we need the code shown above to find your data.
8. Children
The game has no chat, sign-up or purchases, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone, children included.
9. Ads
sinuca.io shows no ads today. If that changes, we will update this page first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
10. Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the date at the top is updated. Questions: contato@sinuca.io.
